Business and Meditation: Is it a profitable marriage?

This is a new age marriage, Meditation and Business.

Let us be honest.  Business runs on profit.  Profitability presents a great argument in any business discussion.  If you cannot make a profit than your livelihood in today’s corporate world is, well, dying.  An interesting video from BBC News discusses the essential question asked before any business relationship can be joined in holy matrimony.

As Janice Marturano (Institute For Mindful Leadership) spoke of in the video, mindfulness peaks performance and therefore enriches the bottom line.

Is it a marriage for your business?

  1. Hi Krystal: So I was in Albany Airport this morning, and guess what I discovered: Albany Airport has a meditation room for passengers! I thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share. What do you think this means regarding meditation? That more people are getting on board with the idea?

  2. Wow! That news is leading me to believe that perhaps more people are getting on board with the mental practice. A vast majority of the research I have been uncovering about meditation have all been recent and mostly includes the involvement of celebrities. It seems that meditation is becoming increasingly seen as more than an exercise for monks. I still have people today who ask me if they are permitted to practice meditation if they are Catholic, Baptist, etc... There are definitely still many misconceptions out there. But I must say - if an airport has introduced the practice then there must have been enough push to back it up. Awesome news Kate, thank you so much for sharing!
